New Delhi, May 26: IT and Communications Minister
Arun Shourie said today the detention of Bangalore-based IBM
employee Narendra Babu by Malaysian authorities could not be
described as a case of singling out of Indian IT
professionals, as the official was working for a global
Infotech company.
"We will certainly be in touch with key officials to
resolve the matter... This time IBM is also involved and it
would also take some action. So one cannot say Indian firm is
being singled out. It is an Indian professional working for
an MNC," Shourie said.
Babu was detained by Malaysian authorities on Friday
evening, when he was boarding a flight back home, for
overstaying his visa.
