Daltonganj, Nov 04: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Nagmani today said all the constituents of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) should
merge into one political entity and appealed to NDA convenor George Fernandes to take initiative in this direction.
"All NDA partners should merge into one political entity
as fewer parties at the national level are in the larger
interest of Indian democracy," he told a press conference and
requested Fernandes to take steps in that direction.
Hailing the merger of the Samata Party and JD(U), the minister, however, clarified that no decision had yet been taken to merge his Rashtriya Janata Dal (Loktantrik) with any other party.
He said a convention of his party had been called in Delhi on February two where the final course of action regarding merger would be decided.
"My party has decided to campaign in favour of BJP candidates in the assembly elections in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
"We want to contest at least ten seats in assembly elections in Delhi for which talks are on with the BJP," he added.
