34 injured as school building collapses in Arnia
Jammu, Aug 02: Thirty-two children and two teachers were injured today when the roof of a school building collapsed due to heavy rain in the border belt of Arnia in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

About 50 students were present at the private Ambedkar School, some 40 kilometres from here, when the roof caved in due to continuous downpour since yesterday, the sources said.
Some children who were trapped inside the building were rescued by villagers, they said. The injured 32 children and two teachers have been admitted to a hospital here and the condition of two students was stated to be serious, the sources added.
The building was declared unsafe by the district authorities some time back and authorities have ordered a probe into the alleged negligence of the school management. Bureau Report
