Hundreds of bales of cotton burned by fire in Pakistan
Karachi, Nov 10: A fire swept through a storage yard near Pakistan`s main Arabian Sea port today and burned hundreds of bales of cotton that were to be exported, but no injuries were reported, an official said.

About 25,000 bales of cotton were stored at the Karachi
port trust storage facility at the time of the fire, and about
2,000 of them were destroyed, said Kafil Ahmed, a spokesman
for the trust, which manages Karachi's port.
No injuries were reported, Ahmed said.
The cause of the fire and cost of the damage were being investigated. Bureau Report
