New Delhi, Mar 21: A Delhi Court will hear today arguments for framing charges against Aftab Ansari alias Farhan Malik, who was brought here from Kolkata in connection with a case of waging war against the country by providing logistic support to ultras for carrying out subversive acts. Ansari along with associates Arshad Khan and Anita Dass was yesterday produced before additional sessions judge (ASJ) S N Dhingra, after the case, which was pending in a metropolitan magistrate was committed to him.
Arguments would be heard today keeping in mind the direction of the Kolkata sessions court, which is holding day-to-day trial in the American Centre attack case, to produce him before it on March 23.
Dhingra has already fixed March 22 for framing charges against Ansari in another case relating to an alleged 'plot' to assassinate President A P J Abdul Kalam and kidnap Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly. The court has slapped Pota charges on his nine accomplices in the case.
Dass and Khan and another accomplice Asif Raza Khan were arrested by the Delhi Police from the Lodhi Garden here in October 2001.
A crime branch team nabbed them while they were allegedly passing on arms and ammunition meant for subversive activities in the country.
Asif Raza Khan, who was also a key accused in the high profile kidnapping of Kolkata businessman Partho Roy Burman, was killed in an encounter with Gujarat Police allegedly while trying to escape from custody.
