Shimla, July 22: Cutting across party lines, 11 MLAs in Himachal Pradesh have formed a forum to work for improving the image of politicians and bringing transparency, morality and honesty in their functioning. Convenor of the "Young MLAs Forum" Sukhvinder Singh "Sukkhu" told reporters here that the members of the new body, all below 40 years of age, would work for winning back the confidence of people for 'politicians as a class' and to assure them that politics was a medium to serve the people and was not for making money.

The founder members of the forum included Sohan Lal, Sudhir Sharma, Rohit Thakur, Rakesh Kalia and Tilak Raj (all Congress), Sat Pal Saini, Vikram Thakur, Virender Kanwar (all BJP) and Navin Dhiman and Subhash Manglet (Independents).
