Consecration of temples performed
Kumbakonam, July 02: The Ashtabandana Maha Kumbabishegams of the ancient `Mahamaham` temples- Sri Viyalan Someswaraswami temple here and Amritha Kalasanathaswami temple at Thirukalayanallur in Sakkottai - was performed this morning.

Kalasanathaswami temple at Thirukalayanallur in Sakkottai - was performed this morning.
Thousands of devotees witnessed the consecration of the two temples, which had recently been innovated at a cost of Rs 20 lakh, according to temple officials. Meanwhile, Maha Samprokshanam of Sri Varadharaja Perumal temple at Thirunalur village, about 20-kms from here was also performed this morning with thousands of devotees participating in it.
The ancient Varadharaja Perumal, Sridevi and Vishnu, Durga, Panchaloga, Urchaver dieties were installed at the temple which were recently unearthed from the temple complex when renovation work was in progress. Bureau Report.
