EC accepts ABJD`s plea on recognition
Hubli, May 19: The election commission has accepted Akhila Bharat Janata Dal`s plea for recognition of the party at the national level as `Akhil Bharat Pragatipara Janata Dal`, according to ABJD Karnataka unit president C Byregowda.

A formal notification from the commission would be issued on May 28, Byregowda told reporters here.
He said the commission had also asked ABJD to select one symbol out of eight which were given by the commission.
ABJD has selected two symbols -- "cow" and "two eyes" -- and a meeting of the party would be held soon to select one, preferably "cow" symbol, which represents farming community in the country, he said. Bureau Report
