HC reserves order on petition against Mayawati
Allahabad, Feb 20: The Allahabad High Court today reserved its order on a writ petition charging Chief Minister Mayawati with financial irregularities relating to purchase of a float pump and construction of a park during her previous tenures in 1995 and 1997.

reserved its order on a writ petition charging Chief Minister
Mayawati with financial irregularities relating to purchase of
a float pump and construction of a park during her previous
tenures in 1995 and 1997.
The petition alleged Mayawati committed several financial
impriorities in the sale of 400 acre industrial land in Noida,
purchase of a float pump and construction of Ambedkar Park at
Lucknow without the sanction of the state assembly.
A division bench comprising Justice R K Dash and Justice
V S Bajpai reserved its order after concluding arguments by
the petitioner good cause association, Allahabad, and the
respondents -- Mayawati, urban development minister Lalji
Tandon, CBI and CAG.
The association had filed a writ petition in 1996 seeking speedy probe by state investigative agency, CBI and CAG into the financial irregularities and another petition in October last year for a court directive to the investigative agencies to conclude their probe within a time-frame.
