Bhupathi-Mirnyi go down in semifinals
New Delhi, May 11: India`s leading doubles player Mahesh Bhupathi and his Belarussian partner Max Mirnyi bowed out of the 2.2-million dollar ATP Tennis Masters in Rome, Italy, yesterday.
New Delhi, May 11: India's leading doubles player Mahesh Bhupathi and his Belarussian partner Max Mirnyi bowed out of the 2.2-million dollar ATP Tennis Masters in Rome, Italy, yesterday.
Bhupathi and Mirnyi, second seeds, went down to Australian duo Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley 6-7 (6/8) 3-6 in the semifinals, according to information received here today.
The Italian clay court event is a tune-up to the French Open starting May 26.
Bhupathi won the doubles crown at Roland Garros in 1999 and in 2001 in the company of compatriot Leander Paes.
