New Delhi, Nov 29: Noted scientist and former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation Dr K Kasturirangan has taken oath as the nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. He took the oath yesterday in the honourable Chairman's chamber, a release from the Rajya Sabha secretariat said.
Born in Ernakulam on October 24, 1940, Kasturirangan served as chairman of the Space Commission and secretary, Department of Space from April 1994 to August 2003.
Under his leadership, ISRO has witnessed several milestones including the successful launch and operationalisation of country's polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) and the first successful flight testing of geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle. Bureau Report
