Srinagar, Dec 19: Stringent security measures have been put in place in the Kashmir Valley to prevent any untoward incident in view of the planned demonstrations by separatist groups to protest the death sentence to three Kashmiris in the parliament attack case. Police and paramilitary troops have been deployed in and around all public places and sensitive government and semi-government installations, especially in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla from where the three convicts hail, police sources said today.
Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party leader Shabir Ahmad Shah has appealed to the people to come out in full force to protest the death sentence to S A R Geelani, Shaukat Guru and Mohammad Afzal by a Delhi court.
In a statement, Democratic Liberation Party headed by Hashim Qureshi said the party was against capital punishment in the case and appealed to international human rights groups to intervene in the matter to save three "innocent" lives.

JKLF and People`s League have also asked people to participate in protest demonstrations. Bureau Report
