New Delhi, Jan 16: Noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani, criticised by Shiv Sena for taking up the Parliament attack case accused S A R Geelani's appeal, today missed an opportunity to argue it in the Delhi High Court as he could not be present when the matter was taken up for hearing by a bench. Jethmalani, who waited for about an hour in the court for the case to be taken up, could not make himself available when the matter was finally taken up as he was busy with another case.
Advocate Kamini Jaiswal, who appeared for Geelani today, said Jethmalani would argue the case when it will come up for hearing on February 3.
Jethmalani's willingness to appear for Geelani in the higher judiciary, was criticised by Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, who said the attack on Parliament was an attack on India's sovereignty and the former law minister should not defend the convicted persons. Bureau Report
