Nellore, May 23: Irked by him being ignored for the Union Cabinet berth, former chief minister N Janardhan Reddy is all set to resign from his Parliament membership. Taking his non-inclusion in the union Cabinet as a personal insult, Janardhan Reddy is said to have expressed his desire to quit politics. Reddy, who expressed his displeasure to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also turned down the PM’s offer of a Governor’s post. Janardhan Reddy’s wife, N Rajyalakshmi, who was sworn in as a Minister in Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s Cabinet, would also follow suit along with another three or four MLAs elected from Nellore. According to information, Janardhan Reddy sought a Ministerial berth for his wife in the State Cabinet, which is why his name was dropped from the list of Union Ministers along with Venkataswamy, whose son Vinod was also inducted into the AP cabinet. NJR told Sonia that he was not consulted when she asked him whether he was contacted on the AP Cabinet formation. When she asked if he wants a say on the Cabinet, NJR is said to have told her that he is not interfering.
