Islamabad, Sept 08: Acknowledging the killing of its
top 'commander' Ghazi Baba in an encounter in Jammu and
Kashmir, Pakistan-based militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad has
appointed Sahrai Baba in his place.
Sahrai was earlier district 'Nazim' of Jaish in Kupwara
district. Abu Dajana has been appointed as Sahrai's Deputy in
Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani Urdu daily 'Jung' today quoted
Jaish 'Deputy Supreme Commander' Wali Hasan as saying.
The decision to 'appoint' Sahrai was taken following the
killing of Ghazi in an encounter with the BSF, Hasan said.
Ghazi, India's most wanted terrorist who masterminded
the attack on parliament two years ago, was gunned down by BSF
jawans in Srinagar on August 30. But Jaish had then claimed
that the slain man was not Ghazi.
