Heroin worth Rs 7 crore seized Jaihindpuram
Madurai, Oct 11: Narcotic Central Bureau officials today seized heroin valued at Rs seven crore in the international market from a house at Jaihindpuram here and arrested two brothers hailing from Sri Lanka.

today seized heroin valued at Rs seven crore in the
international market from a house at Jaihindpuram here and
arrested two brothers hailing from Sri Lanka.
The officials who raided the house early in the morning
said the brothers Ramakrishnan and Ramar had been operating
from Solaiazhagupuram area in Jaihindpuram and had been
smuggling heroin to Sri Lanka via Rameswaram.
The NCB sources said that both had been taken to Chennai
for remand.
Earlier the duo had been operating from Sholavandan. The
NCB sources said that this was the second major seizure in the
Madurai area which had become the hub for narcotic smuggling
to south eastern countries in the last two weeks.
Heroin worth Rs six crore was seized near Tiruparankunram
by the NCB officials on September 24. Police had arrested four
members of a gang in that connection .
