New Market, July 07: Royal Ascot winner High Accolade is set to take on older horses for the first time on Tuesday in the Princess of Wales's UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation Stakes at Newmarket.
The winner of the King Edward VII Stakes is one of only two three-year-olds confirmed for the Group Two contest over a mile and a half on the first day of the July meeting.
The other is the John Gosden-trained Summerland, who was beaten three lengths into third place by High Accolade at Ascot.
"At the moment High Accolade is an intended runner," said trainer Marcus Tregoning, who saw Nayef finish second to Falbrav in Saturday's Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown.
The Lambourn trainer has mapped out a plan for High Accolade that hopefully will culminate in a crack at the St Leger at Doncaster in September.
"If he runs next week it will be at Newmarket, then he'll go for the Great Voltigeur at York, then we'll see about the St Leger," he said.
