Convergelabs to ramp up Indian R&D centre
New Delhi, Dec 28: In its move to make India a strategic business development hub for Asia, US based Convergelabs is set to ramp up its Gurgaon based R&D centre by raising the number of software engineers to 120 from 70 at present.

raising the number of software engineers to 120 from 70 at
present.
"We aim to make India a strategic business hub for Asia
in terms of both business development and R&D as well. We are
ramping up our Indian subsidiary in Gurgaon which is also the
R&D centre, by increasing the number of software professionals
to 120 in the next two years," Amol Patel, founder and
president of Convergelabs told reporters here.
Convergelabs, a VC funded company is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, specialises in building innovative solutions to the members of wireless ecosystems. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporations has used Convergelabs's technology for its indoor mobile phone coverage.
The technology developed by Convergelabs integrates the equipment for all mobile phone service providers in Delhi enabling superior voice and data quality without congestion.
Worldwide, the company has 20 customers spread across US, Canada, Japan, Vietnam and China, he said.
The company currently is developing mobile ticketing applications for a Japanese mobile services company for which beta trials are currently going on, Patel said, adding Convergelabs is in talks with Indian mobile service companies for the ticketing applications.
