Ranchi, Mar 23: With India reaching the World Cup finals, an all-faith prayer meeting was organised here for invoking God's blessings to help the Indian team lift the Cup beating Australia in the final at the Wanderers today. The meeting was held yesterday to wish captain Sourav Ganguly and his team to bring back the coveted cup after a span of 20 years, when Kapil's devils shocked the world with their victory against West Indies.
A number of four-wheelers, prominently displaying banners reading -- 'Good Luck India' -- and large size posters of Indian cricket stars on the roof, were making rounds across the city with a dummy cup placed on the bonnet.
Special arrangements have been made at a cinema hall to screen the World Cup final live at special rates.
An ardent cricket buff S A Kalam is carrying a pocket size Quran, praying for India's win.
"Since morning I am reading selected verses meant for success...I hope India brings back the Cup...I was unmarried when India won the Cup last time...now I want to share the joy with my wife and three daughters", Kalam said proudly. Bureau Report
