Chief of the top US intelligence agency Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) has warned that suicide bombers who wrecked havoc in public places in Israel could strike the Unites States in the near future. "There will be another terrorist attack. I think we will see that in the future, I think it is inevitable," FBI Director Robert Mueller said in response to a query after addressing the National Association of District Attorneys meeting in suburban Alexandria (Virginia). He said the degree of fanaticism that an informant must exhibit to get into the inner circle of a terrorist group makes it difficult for law-enforcement agencies to penetrate such organizations and prevent such attacks. "I wish I could be more optimistic," he said. Members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, who are routinely briefed by the White House, also said that terrorist attacks on the US are inevitable, though not necessarily soon.
