Marking their presence at the function would be Sir Edmund Hillary, Lady Hillary and Jamling Norgay, son of Tenzing Norgay, an official release said here today.
A stamp to commemorate the occasion will be released by the Prime Minister, it said adding he will also give away the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards for 1999, 2000 and 2001 to 13 persons for their significant achievements in the field of land, air and water adventure. A Everester's meet on the theme - "Mount Everest -experience gained and lessons learnt" will also be held, it said.
In the evening, the road joining Shanti Path with Nayaya Marg will be renamed sir Edmund Hillary Marg and the road joining Shanti Path with Niti Marg as Tenzing Norgay Marg. Sir Edmund Hillary himself would unveil the plaques, it said adding Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit would also grace the occasion.
