Lucknow, July 05: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today vehemently denied allegations levelled by Rashtriya Kranti Party president Kalyan Singh that she had deposited money at a Swiss bank and said the allegations were aimed at tarnishing her image.
The allegations are reflective of Singh's "mental bankruptcy and frustration" and have nothing to do with the truth, she said in a statement here.
Stating that her recent Switzerland visit was not personal but an official one to attract foreign investment, Mayawati said her programmes there were fixed up by the Indian Embassy and she had only met prospective investors, industrialists and representatives of different international institutions.
She asked Singh to either furnish evidence in support of his allegations or tender an "unconditional apology".
