Seventeen Maoists arrested in Nepal
Kathmandu, June 15: Seventeen Maoist militants have been arrested in Darchula district, even as two soldiers were killed and four others injured in a friendly fire incident in western Nepal.

The Maoists were arrested, when they refused to hand over
arms to the security forces who were involved in a road
project in the area.
Meanwhile, a friendly fire incident occurred in Baghkor area when a Royal Nepal Army vehicle on regular patrolling duty encountered another vehicle belonging to the armed police forces yesterday and both fired at each taking the other for Maoists.
The armed police force has recently established a police post in the area previously known as a Maoist stronghold. Bureau Report
