New Delhi, June 04: Charging Union Minister and BJP leader Arun Jaitely with misleading the media on the issue of development of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today asked him to present the relevant information in an objective manner.
In reply to letters written by Jaitley, the Chief
Minister of the Congress-ruled state said, "in matters of
development where the information is in public place, it would
be desirable to present that in an objective manner. It is
also not fair to the media to provide them selected
information or omit information."
Jaitley had recently written to Singh holding the Congress responsible for the backwardness of his state where the party ruled for nearly half a century. He had also quoted various reports to drive home his point.
In the continuing war of words over the development of the state which is going to the polls in six months, Singh said "after all, documents like the census are there for all to see and make up their minds on whether Madhya Pradesh has done well in the decade of the nineties."
He said "I understand that it would take long for politics in India to mature to become bipartisan on issues of development but you and I should strive towards that instead of seeking to cloud information to misled the media or the citizen."
