Dehradun, Oct 08: The Uttaranchal government has identified 22 new sites to be developed as tourist destinations in the hill state and has sought Rs 57.85 crore from the 12th Finance Commission to improve infrastructural facilities in these places, official sources said today. Apart from this, the state tourism department has also put forward a proposal to develop the world-famous 'char dham yatra' circuit costing Rs 180 crore before the commission for its clearance, they said. For the development of the Pithoragarh-Munsyari and Pauri-Khirsu circuit, Rs 65.84 crore has been sought, they said. He said a scheme to built airstrips in these areas was also being worked out.
