Court allows Sanjay Dutt to visit Ooty for film shoot
Mumbai, Sept 28: A special court hearing the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case has allowed film actor Sanjay Dutt to visit Ooty for a month from October one to shoot for the film `Rakht`.
Mumbai, Sept 28: A special court hearing the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case has allowed film actor Sanjay Dutt to visit Ooty for a month from October one to shoot for the film `Rakht'.
Granting him permission, designated Judge P D Kode asked
Dutt to ensure that his lawyer Farhana Shah represents him
during his absence and warned him not to maintain any contact
with absconding accused or make attempts to tamper with
evidence.
Dutt would be in Ooty from October one to 28.
The actor has been asked to report on October 29 on his return from Ooty. The court has recently asked him to appear on October 13 along with other accused.
The actor has been asked to file a detailed programme of shooting with the registrar.
Earlier, the court had allowed him to visit Holland to perform a stage show.
Dutt is facing the charge of possessing AK-56 rifle in an area notified under Tada (P) Act and destroying the weapon with the help of his friends. He has denied the charges.
About 122 accused are facing trial. Among them 86, including Dutt, are on bail and the rest are lodged in Central Prison.
