MP cabinet approves 27 pc job reservation bill for OBCs
Bhopal, Aug 04: In a move termed as a `pre-poll stunt` by opposition parties, Madhya Pradesh cabinet today approved a bill to reserve 27 per cent jobs for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the state.

The cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, endorsed the Madhya Pradesh Public Service (Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes) Amendment Bill, 2003.
The amendment bill seeks to provide for 16 per cent reservation to SCs, 20 per cent to STs and 27 per cent to OBCs on Class I, Class II, class III and class iv posts in state government services, an official statement here said. The cabinet also approved the rehabilitation scheme of the National Textiles Corporation, a Central government undertaking, for rehabilitation of textile mills in the state.
