New Delhi, Sept 15: The first leg of the Scorpio speedster contest for aspiring talents from across the country has discovered a pace bowler in Amit Singh here.
In the two-day Delhi leg of the contest, launched to hunt
for a "speed gun", Amit Singh bowled at a speed of 134 kmph to
emerge the fastest bowler while Abid Khan, who finished the
runner-up, bowled at 130 kph.
"The competition was very intense and at the same time very exciting. I am going to eagerly follow the contest in the other cities. The ultimate aim is to win the title of Scorpio speedster," Amit Singh said.
The 22-year-old said, "The contest will provide a good platform to those who cannot effort the expenses of the sport as the national champion will get a chance to attend the cricket academy in Australia in addition to cash reward."
Amit Singh, who has played inter-zonal cricket in the past, said he was keen on playing in the Ranji trophy and meet the members of the touring New Zealand team during their match at Faridabad.
The "Scorpio speedster with Timex" contest organised by the ESPN, is being held across 10 cities in India from September 13 to November 21.
