New Delhi, Sept 14: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani here and discussed the present security scenario in the state, besides various development projects, an official release said today. Apang, who met Advani yesterday along with state Home Minister Lowancha Wanglet, sought re-deployment of three more battalions of CRPF in Arunachal Pradesh and also proposed modernization of police force in the border state, the release said.


The Deputy Prime Minister has agreed to visit Itanagar on October 10 in response to the request made by Apang, it said. Advani will inaugurate an energy park funded by the Union Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources and constructed by Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency near Indira Gandhi Park at Itanagar, the release said.

The Deputy Prime Minister has also consented to address a state level convention of BJP at Itanagar on the same day, it said.

Apang also sought Advani's intervention in the matter of increase in subsidised flying hours of Pawan hand helicopters for passenger service in the state upto 150 hours, it said. The Chief Minister apprised the Deputy Prime Minister of a proposal of a 500-bed referral hospital in the state capital pending with the ministry of development of North Eastern region and requested him to lay the foundation stone of the hospital during his tour to Itanagar, the release said.
