Lucknow, Apr 17: A local court today rejected the
interim bail application of Madhumani Tripathi, wife of former
Uttar Pradesh minister Amarmani Tripahti, and the prime
accused in poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case.
Rejecting Madhumani`s plea, additional sessions judge
Mohd Farooq Umar said there was no relevance in releasing her
on interim bail.
The court had yesterday reserved its verdict after hearing the arguments of the counsels of the accused and the CBI. The interim bail application was moved on the ground of Madhumani`s illness with her counsel pleading that she was not getting proper treatment.
CBI`s counsel said Madhumani was getting adequate medical facilities and there were chances of her absconding in case she was granted bail.
Madhumani`s regular bail plea would come up for hearing in the court on April 19.
