Kochi, June 04: As many as 2000 workers of Kerala Congress(Mani), under the leadership of party`s secretariat member P M Sunny, have resigned from the party to form Kerala Congress(S). "About 2000 party workers from Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram have resigned from KC(M) protesting the party`s deviating from its policies and basic principles", Sunny, also the party`s youth front state vice-president, told reporters here today.
KC(M) has become an "anti-farmer party", he alleged, adding despite being in the ruling front for the last two years, it failed to solve problems of working class people.
"The KC(M) ministers have also betrayed unemployed youths since they could not do anything to solve the unemployment problem", he said.
Alleging KC(M) ministers failed to impress upon the Centre the seriousness of natural calamities affecting fishermen and farmers, he said the ministers also failed to get Centre`s relief fund.

The state level conference of Kerala Congress (S would be held on June 27 at Kochi, he said.
