Kolkata, Sept 15: Over 200 Samajwadi Party activists today staged a demonstration in front of BJP office here and burnt an effigy of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi demanding his removal in the wake of indictment by the Supreme Court of his government in the Best Bakery case. Samajwadi Party workers, carrying anti-Modi placards before strong police pickets posted there, demanded President's rule be immediately imposed in Gujarat, particularly after the Supreme Court passed severe stricture on Modi government in filing an appeal in High Court challenging the acquittal of 21 accused in the Best Bakery case. Youth Congress activists burnt an effigy of the Gujarat Chief Minister at city's Bhownipore area. Bureau Report
