Well-known Hindi playwright and Sangeet Natak Academy award winner Hameedulla died in Jaipur following protracted illness, family sources said. Hameedulla, 65, who penned at least a dozen books on drama, had been awarded Rajasthan Sahitya Academy's Meera Award, Bhashavibagh Award of the Haryana government and the Bihari Award, besides the prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy award.
Retiring from state government services as deputy secretary, he had worked exhaustively for radio, TV and childrens' stage plays. Bureau Report
