Order on bail plea of Hashmi murder case accused reserved
Allahabad, Nov 11: Allahabad High Court today reserved its order on the bail application of the accused in the Safdar Hashmi murder case who were convicted by a trial court recently.

Justice G P Mishra reserved his order on the bail
applications filed during pendency of their appeals by Ramesh,
Suresh and seven others, all of them awarded life sentence by
the additional district and session court, Ghaziabad.
Hashmi, founder of theatre troupe Sahmat, and his associate Ram Bahadur had been killed by a group of people led by political worker Mukesh Sharma, when the former, alongwith his troupe members, were performing at a park in the city on January five, 1989.
The trial court, vide ordered dated November three and five, had awarded life imprisonment to 12 accused of which two had died during trial of the case, while another had been declared absconding.
The accused had subsequently filed a criminal appeal in Allahabad High Court with a prayer to grant bail to the accused during the pendency of appeal against the trial court order. Bureau Report
