Prohibitory orders imposed in Basti
Basti, Oct 13: Prohibitory orders have been enforced in the district and barriers set up to check the flow of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)activists to neighbouring Faizabad in view of their proposed Ayodhya march programme on October 17.
Basti, Oct 13: Prohibitory orders have been enforced in the district and barriers set up to check the flow of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)activists to neighbouring Faizabad in view of their proposed Ayodhya march programme on October 17.
Official sources said here today that twelve barriers have been set up in the areas bordering Faizabad and thorough checking of vehicles was going on to stop the VHP activists from proceeding to the temple town.
In all, four companies of PAC and two of CRPF have been deployed and a close vigil was also being maintained on the river routes, they said adding that the DIG, K K Saxena has requested for additional force for the district. Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath (MP) held a public meeting in Ridhaura village of the district yesterday and exhorted the people to reach Ayodhya in large numbers for the VHP programme.
