Jammu, Sept 18: Jammu and Kashmir unit of Congress today expelled seven rebel leaders, including a former spokesman Beli Ram Kundal, for filing nominations against the party's official candidates in the assembly polls.

Kundal, Ramesh Motton, Laxmi Dutta, Krishan Lal Gupta, Ashwani Sharma, Rajinder Kumar and Thakur Puran Singh have been expelled from the Congress for lifetime for their anti-party activities by state unit chief Ghulam Nabi Azad, party's chief spokesman Amrit Malhotra told reporters. While Laxmi Dutta recently joined National Conference after being denied ticket from Marh constituency, the others had filed nominations as independents or Jammu state Morcha candidates, Congress sources said.
