The bill replacing the controversial POTO is scheduled for introduction in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday after home minister L K Advani makes a statement on the terrorist attack on Parliament House. Advani`s attempt to introduce the anti-terrorism bill was stonewalled in the House last week with Opposition creating an uproar over it as also on the Kargil coffins scam.
“The bill is now on the agenda for Tuesday’s business,” Parliament sources said. Apprehending opposition furore in the house over the CAG report demanding defence minister George Fernandes` resignation, the BJP is also bracing up to counter the onslaught by demanding passage of the anti-terrorism bill, party sources said.
