Manchester, Aug 03: It was a golden day for Indian hockey as the eves struck gold in extra-time to beat hosts England by 3-2 in a thrilling finale. This is India`s first Commonwealth medal in women`s hockey.
India claimed gold after the match ended in bizarre circumstances as England believed a golden goal had been ruled out by officials.

The umpires first ruled out the strike as the hooter sounded, but after complaints from Indian players and officials the decision was overturned.
