Raipur, July 20: Gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections next year, BJP today decided to organise for the first time special training camps for its MPs and MLAs from across the country in August and September respectively. On the concluding day of its three-day national executive here, the party decided to organise a two-day training camp for its parliamentarians beginning August 23 in Jaipur, party sources told.
The MPs camp would be followed by a camp for MLAs at Bhopal on September 21 and 22.
The party entrusted the responsibility of organising the two camps to its two general secretaries Pramod Mahajan and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the sources said.
The camps are aimed at imparting complete training to the law makers on political issues, election management and media management ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, they said.
Today's meeting also deliberated on identifying issues to be taken up at state level in the general elections.
Deputy Prime Minisrter L K Advani is scheduled to address a meeting of select party functionaries from Chattisgarh later today.
