Raj HC issues notice to Centre on clean chit to tainted officer
Jaipur, June 19: Considering yet another news paper report as public interest litigation (PIL), a vacation judge of Rajasthan High Court has issued notices to the Central government and others concerned for refusal of permission for prosecuting an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.

Taking suo motu cognizance of the reports in local papers,
Justice S K Keshote yesterday ordered issue of notices to
secretary of the department of personnel, Union government,
vigilance commissioner and superintendent of CBI, asking them
to furnish replies by July 21.
According to the newspaper reports the Centre refused to grant permission to CBI to prosecute IAS officer Ravi Shankar Srivastava who was allegedly found prima facie guilty of corruption charges by the CBI in the sixth phase of pulse polio immunisation programme.
The judge commented that the graph of corruption was increasing because government was finding itself incapable of taking action against big officers.
Taking suo motu cognizance of newspaper reports about the proposed visit of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to United States, Rajasthan High Court had on Tuesday issued notices to the state and the Central governments asking them to provide justification for the visit. Bureau Report
