New Delhi, Apr 23: Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Group today announced a net profit of Rs 619 crore during 2003-04 fiscal as against a loss of Rs 134 crore in the previous fiscal. According to financial results sent to the stock market, the company said the turnover of Bharti Televentures, the service arm of Bharti Group, registered a growth of 64 per cent at Rs 5002 crore in 2003-04 compared to Rs 3050 crore in 2002-03.
Bharti, which offers mobile services under the brand name Air Tel, has a footprint virtually across the whole country. It is also one of the largest integrated telecom players offering a variety of services including basic, cellular, domestic long distance (STD) and international long distance (ISD).
During the fourth quarter, Bharti's net profit clocked a growth of 54 per cent at Rs 304 crore for the period January-March 2004 as against Rs 70 crore during the same period the previous year.
The turnover during the fourth quarter stood at Rs 1553 crore as against Rs 1007 crore.
