Chennai, Feb 26: BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu today said the party will contest the coming Lok Sabha elections on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) manifesto. ''We will contest the Lok Sabha polls on the NDA manifesto. It will cater to all the NDA allies,'' Naidu told reporters here.
He disclosed that the NDA would also bring out a vision document in a fortnight spelling out plans for the country in the next five years in areas like social sector, education, health, arts, culture and sports.
Asked if the AIADMK, with which the BJP has revived its alliance after a gap of nearly five years, would be a part of the NDA, he said, ''This has not been discussed.''
The BJP president expressed confidence that the AIADMK will join the NDA. ''As of now, the BJP has seat-sharing arrangement with the AIADMK.''
On finalisation of party candidates, Naidu said the state units had been asked to send the lists between March 05 and 10. After that the central committee would finalise the names in the next five days, he added.
About the party's stand on Ayodhya issue, Naidu asserted that there was no confusion. ''A temple has to be built in Ayodhya but only after arriving at a consensus between the parties concerned. The stand is very clear.''
Cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, who recently joined the party, and top BJP leaders from the state were also present at the press conference. Bureau Report
