Munich, Sept 16: Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn says Celtic is a very serious adversary. Two days before Bayern Munich play Celtic in their Champions League match, Kahn said that his team faced a serious opponent. Speaking to reporters in Munich on Monday (September 15) Kahn gave his assessment of Scotland's Celtic team: "Celtic won the UEFA Cup last year and I need to say no more. "They are absolutely a European and international top team which has relatively little to do with Scottish football since almost all the players are foreigners", he added. "So from the very start we are facing a very serious (adversary), the current UEFA Cup winner. Every one of us knows what he is facing". Over the weekend German champions Bayern Munich slumped to their first defeat of the season when they lost 3-2 at VfL Wolfsburg - not the best preparation for Wednesday's awkward-looking Champions League opener against Celtic.
Kahn welcomed the start of the Champions League, and said his team would make every effort "to play a better role in the Champions League this season".
