Pune, June 11: Southwest monsoon has further advanced into parts of central Arabian Sea, Goa, coastal Karnataka and some more parts of south interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Indian Meteorological Department said here today. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim and Konkan and Goa during the next 48 hours.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Marathwada, Vidharbha and some other places, IMD said.

Monsoon has been vigorous in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, the IMD said in a release.
