Cleveland, Nov 17: Zydrunas Ilgauskas lead the Cavaliers to a 91-88 overtime victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
It was a quick start by Zydrunas Ilgauskas that gave the Cavaliers an early boost, but his tip in late in the overtime period that gave the the center his 28th point and Cleveland the victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Cleveland victory ended a thier 16 game losing streak to the 76ers.
Rookie sensation LeBron James scored 22 points, had eight assists and five rebounds. However it was a block that proved to be his biggest play of the night. Leading 90-88 with just seconds remaining in the game, Philadelphia guard Kyle Korver found himself wide open on the wing for the game tying jump shot.
Moments after Korver released the ball James came from the weakside to knock the ball into the stands thereby killing the 76ers best chance to force a 2nd overtime period. Playing without 3 starters Glenn Robinson, Derrick Coleman and Kenny Thomas the outmaned were led by the NBA's leading scorer Allen Iverson finished with 19 on 8 of 29 shooting.
