Los Angeles, June 28: Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has urged US President George W. Bush to allow Iraqis to govern Iraq as soon as possible. "Government in Iraq must return to the people of Iraq as soon as possible," Pervez said during a dinner last night at a hotel in downtown Los Angeles, the final stop of his one-week visit to the United States. Musharraf agreed "in principle" to send Pakistani troops to join a post-war peacekeeping force in Iraq provided it was under the auspices of the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Conference or the Gulf Cooperation Council. Bush personally conveyed the request to Musharraf during their talks at his private Camp David retreat on Tuesday, Musharraf told an American television channel. Bureau Report
