Silicon Valley, June 11: Cisco Systems is set to expand its presence in the small and medium business market, which is expected to lead the United States and other countries out of the current slowdown, chief executive John Chambers said here today.
Addressing the small and medium business executive panel
discussion at its headquarters here, Chambers said that he
believed the job growth in the next decade, especially the
next two years, will primarily be driven by small and medium
businesses.
In its effort to increase its services to the small and medium business sector, the worldwide leader in networking for the internet will enter new technology markets as well as build on its partnerships to understand as well as educate this growing sector.
Cisco Systems takes about 80 per cent of its revenues from corporate customer. Small and medium businesses account for about 20 to 30 percent of the internet equipment maker's business.
Expanding on why he believed that the small businesses will be the key indicator of the economic turn around in the U.S., Chambers said small businesses were quicker to bounce back from challenges. "They respond quicker and they are not under the same pressure that CEOs of some of the larger companies are under." Bureau Report
