Indore, Nov 14: Madhya Pradesh BJP spokesman and Indore mayor, Kailash Vijaywargiya today filed his nomination papers from the Indore-II constituency for the December 1 assembly polls in the state. Vijaywargia currently represents the seat in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly and he won from it for the first time in 1993 and again in 1998.

Vijaywargiya along with a large number of supporters went to the collectorate to file his nomination on the last day of their filing, BJP sources said.

Indore-II is a BJP stronghold and is considered the safest seat for the party in view of the developmental works carried out by Vijaywargiya in his capacity as the city mayor.

Vijaywargiya also offered the seat to BJP's chief ministerial nominee, Uma Bharati for contesting the assembly polls but she opted for Bada Malhera from where her brother Swami Prasad Lodhi had won in 1998.
