New Delhi: Famous singer Adnan Sami is finally an Indian citizen. The happy news broke out on December 31, and was officially granted one on January 1, 2016—making this New Year really a special one for this singer-actor.

Sami was granted Indian citizenship by MoS, Home today morning by Kiren Rijiju. He was accompanied by his wife Roya Faryabi. After getting the Indian citizenship, ANI quoted Adnan as saying: “Iam eternally grateful to the Indian Government and to the people who have given me so much love and affection”.


Sami took to Twitter and shared a tri-colour picture as well:



 


He even added, “Thankful to GoI (Government of India) for this precious & beautiful gift and there can't be more beautiful day than 1st January”.


 


A happy Adnan was seen singing lines from his famous song, “Teri oonchi shaan hai maula,meri arzi maan le maula” after being granted Indian citizenship. Sami sang 'Bhar Do Jholi' for Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' recently.
