Lucknow, Sept 05: In a bid to cut down government expenditure and setting an example in public life, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today reduced the number of his security guards and official vehicles. The Chief Minister has reduced the number of his security personnel from 173 to 115 and that of cars in his fleet from 12 to seven, an official release said. The Chief Minister feels that having a large number of security personnel not only becomes a burden on the state exchequer but also acts as an impediment in striking a rapport with the common people, the release added.
